Our Giving Tree program has grown and branched out to include give aways at our 1301 Main St location. Several times a year we open the building to area families in need of clothing and food.

Every week volunteers pick up, sort, and box gently-used clothing. A team of volunteers also pick up thousands of pounds of groceries each month. (Over370,553 pounds in 2009!) The groceries are sorted and later bagged to be given away to needy area families. All of our services are always free to the public.

Totals for 2009

  a. 370,553 total pounds of food have been picked up at the Akron Canton
      Foodbank.  241,969 total pounds of this food has been received cost free.
  b. Children from 90 schools were helped representing 27 school districts.
  c. Total households helped with free clothing - 4474
  d. Total number of people helped with clothing - 16,982
  e. Total households helped with food - 4746
  f. Total # of people helped with food - 18,013
  g. 127 people have signed up for a free Bible correspondence course.
